St. Matthew's Sunday school will present their Christmas program, His Name is Jesus, on December 12 during the 9:15 service. Rehearsals will begin Sunday, November 28 during the scheduled Sunday School period. The Sunday school period will be extended until 11:30am on Sun., Nov. 28 and Sun., Dec 5. An additional practice may be scheduled for December 11.
Please note the following changes to St. Matthew's schedule: we will not have a service or catechism class on Weds, Nov 10th. We are also cancelling Bible study and Heartners ladies group for Thurs, Nov 11. Please share this message with members who would normally attend on Wednesdays or Thursdays. Thank you.
On Sun, Oct 24, we will be blessed to have Mr. Phillip Magness with us at St. Matthew. Phillip has served as a full-time parish musician and has led music for numerous special events and retreats. He currently has a dual call to Village Lutheran Church in Ladue, MO and as an LCMS missionary to French-speaking countries in West and Central Africa. He will be sharing his talents with us by accompanying our worship music for our 9:15am service. We will also be collecting a door offering for Phillip's mission work. During a potluck brunch to follow the service, Phillip will share a presentation on the good work the Lord is doing in Africa. Members are encouraged to bring "brunch food" such as egg bakes, muffins, coffee cakes, fruit, etc. As a bonus, Phillip will be providing a music workshop at St. Matthew on Sat, Oct 23 from 2:00-4:00pm for accompanists, vocalists, and those interested in the worship life of the church: "Leading and Guiding the Saints in Song: Nurturing Robust Singing in the Christian Congregation."
St. Matthew's annual Fall Harvest Soup Supper will be Friday, October 15 beginning at 4:30pm in St. Matthew's Fellowship Hall (4285 US Hwy 12, Warrens). The menu will include homemade soups, chowders, and chili with bread, crackers, desserts, and drinks. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 6-11, and free for children 5 and under.
